Dipke Visited Areas in MP’s Balaghat District That Led To His Satirical Post

Mahi Shrivastava, Bhopal: An X post of a fake resignation letter that seemed to be written by the “Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh” has gone viral on the internet. However, the satire highlights a serious public health issue that has affected the state. Abhijeet Dipke, the creator of a satirical group called the “Cockroach Janta Party” (CJP), posted this tweet.

Dipke announced his resignation as “the Chief Minister of MP with immediate effect,” thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the chance and acknowledging that he had “failed” the state’s citizens in a letter written as if he held the highest position in the state. In reality, Mohan Yadav holds the position of Chief Minister in MP, and not Abhijeet Dipke. The letter was generally interpreted as a political jab rather than a sincere departure.

Reason Behind this Satire

This satire draws its sting from a genuine tragedy of an infectious disease outbreak in Balaghat district’s Birsa block in MP that has taken many children’s lives from the Baiga and Gond tribal communities since June.

Strong evidence of malaria and measles was discovered in the affected children through medical tests conducted by the National Institute for Tribal Health Research and Jabalpur Medical College. Officials also identified poor vaccination rates, malnutrition, and dehydration as contributory factors. The administration has been criticized by opposition politicians and local tribal organizations for responding slowly and providing insufficient medical treatment in the isolated tribal belt.

On Saturday, Abhijeet Dipke visited the villages of Adori, Korka, and Bondari in the Balaghat area of Madhya Pradesh to speak with the families of tribal children who were reportedly killed by infectious diseases and also went to the neighborhood to find out more about the medical services that locals may use.

Online Responses

Online responses have been mixed. Some have questioned whether imitating an official government letter style breaches the boundary between acceptable political criticism and disinformation; some viewers mistook it for actual news, while many immediately recognized it as comedy and shared it as commentary on governance failings.

An FIR against Dipke has been demanded by a social media account that identifies its owner as a BJP member. The account claims that Dipke falsely represented himself as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and unlawfully utilized the official letterhead of the chief minister. If authorities did not take action against Dipke for what the account termed “Such Criminal Activities,” the post threatened to start legal proceedings.

Current Health Conditions

According to the most recent government statistics, 486 individuals needed hospitalization following an exhaustive health survey in just four villages, while around 30 children are said to have lost their lives in the larger impacted region over the preceding several months. As of now, forty patients are receiving standard medical care, according to reports by TOI.
