Ritika Chouhan: Diljit Dosanjh’s new Punjabi movie Sardaar Ji 3 has created a huge problem. The film released yesterday in Pakistan and people there loved it. Theatres were full, and fans were excited to see Diljit with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.

But in India, the movie did not release at all. The film’s co-producer Gunbir Singh Sidhu said it is because of Hania’s recent comments about India’s army action, Operation Sindoor. He said, “Her words were hurtful. After the Pahalgam attack where our soldiers were killed, people here are sad and angry. This is not the right time to show the film.”

Because of this, the filmmakers are facing huge losses. They say they won’t even recover 40% of the money spent on making the movie. For them, it is a big financial setback.

Some famous people have supported Diljit during this controversy.

Writer Chetan Bhagat said, “We don’t have to hate people to keep our country safe. We should focus on peace.”
Director Imtiaz Ali called Diljit a true Indian who always ends his concerts by waving the Indian flag with pride.
Poet Javed Akhtar said banning the film in India will only hurt Indian producers and their families, not Pakistan.

However, many are still very angry.
Singer Mika Singh said Diljit should apologise to people and remove scenes with Hania to calm down the public.
Poet Kumar Vishwas asked why Diljit worked with Pakistani actors at a time when Indian soldiers are dying on the border.
Actor Puneet Issar said Sikhs have always protected India with bravery, and this decision was wrong and hurtful.

Now, the film is stuck between two countries. People are asking – what is more important: art or patriotism? Diljit has not said anything yet about the controversy. The movie is running successfully in Pakistan, but in its own country, it remains blocked.

This situation shows that movies can easily cross borders, but people’s hearts remain divided by pain, anger, and national pride.
